As developers, we spend more time on Google than we spend in our code editors. Constantly trying to fix that annoying bug which came just out of nowhere, it’s frustrating, isn’t it? So it’s important that you know how to get the most out of Google.
Those tips will help you become more efficient in your job, save you a ton of time because you won’t have to waste it checking out solutions that are not relevant to your problem or are outdated, you won’t get angry and frustrated and you’ll be able to get done your project before the deadline. You’ll become a more valuable employee to your boss and have more free time to watch YouTube videos at work 😁.
1. Use quotes
When you put something in between quotes Google will search for the exact phrase. In our case, we can use them to find solutions to errors and exceptions. So put the annoying error message that you are getting in between quotes, hit ENTER and you’ll see solutions that are related to the exact error you’re getting.
10. Try a different search engine
Yes, try out a different search engine don’t use only Google. Different search engines bring different results. Ofter when I get stuck in search I use DuckDuckGo and Yandex they bring great results because they don’t try to censor the results. Also, let’s not forget YouTube you can always find a video on how to fix your problem which is even great because you can actually see how it’s done.
